Administration and Vidura Neeti

Sage Valmiki quotes in Ramayana that, when Bharatha meets Rama on the completion of fourteenth year informs him that the treasury was doubled than it was when Rama left for forest. This conveys a message that as a representative of Rama he ruled the kingdom of Kosala with commendable efficiency protecting his subjects with care and alertness and with high proactive wisdom. Even Vidura asserts in his Vidura Neeti that the taxes imposed by the government should be need based but not greed based and should not be a burden to the citizens of the country. What is important is that honesty in execution of works within the stipulated periods so that they help the needy. I am citing the above examples as they are more appropriate to our present living conditions. Administrators need to follow Vidura Neeti and the wisdom emphasised by our Sages in epics.
I solicit your views on the subject.
